The Netherlands’ current account surplus widened to €38.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024 from €33.2 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The goods account surplus increased to €29.4 billion from €24.5 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023, while the services account surplus went up slightly to €11 billion from €10.5 billion.
In addition, the primary income account recorded a surplus of €0.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024, shifting from a deficit of €0.1 billion a year earlier.
Meanwhile, secondary income shortfall widened to €1.7 billion from €0.5 billion.
