"The government has been looking to find additional savings of approximately 170 million euros from social services and specialised healthcare budget cuts."

I shudder to think how much worse things can get, going by the rate of cuts being announced. There was news recently that many municipalities already face massive layoffs this year and are in severe deficit. Unemployment levels have skyrocketed which will only place more burden on the social system. And amidst all this, the government doesn't seem to be talking about anything concrete being done to address and fix these issues other than announcing more cuts.

At this point, it's feeling increasingly hard to be hopeful about the future of the welfare state.

I guess all we can do is vote wisely in the upcoming local elections..

  1. Govt should instead do cuts on military nonsense budgets. It is totally pointless.

  2. Absolute horsecock. Believe ***nothing*** out of this feckless, dickless grifter’s mouth.

Just for context, this Gov’t is supporting *private* healthcare to the tune of 500 million € and the fur trade with 50 million €, whilst cutting at least 170 million € from the public healthcare & social services sector. And this bucket of cunts, knuckledragging fuckduggery-perpetrating shitbungler still has the audacity to say that these cuts aren’t ideologically motivated.

    TL;DR: Fuck this lying cunt.

  3. Just an open question, is sending hundreds of millions of euros aid to Ukraine worth it? that money could have been spent on the general public welfare or investments to ease down unemployment!!?

I understand the part that Finland has some strategic benefits as well to help Ukraine and to send a message to Russia.

  4. question as foreigner, are these funding cuts data-driven or just out-of-nowhere? because from what I know in my field, FCAI cuts PhD from 4y to 3y, but actually it does not make sense because either people cannot finish on time, or actually they started before first commencement year. enlightenment please
