    They automatically shot out that no classified information was discussed in that group chat.

    Kinda cut the legs out from underneath them to go after this guy for disclosure of any information that may actually be classified.

    1. A journalist was accidentally added to a group discussion of battle plans.
    2. The group discussion was conducted using a commercial text messaging app.
    3. Since apps like Signal are certainly not installed on secure phones, these phones were all unsecured, personal devices.
    4. Unsecured phones owned by NSC officials are undoubtedly compromised.
    5. Intelligence services of allies and enemies alike are aware of everything NSC officials do on unsecured devices.
    6. Intelligence services of allies and enemies alike were already aware of the contents of this conversation, and..
    7. Intelligence services of allies and enemies alike have been following EVERY group chat of NSC officials since Trump took office. Our national security affairs have essentially been broadcast to every country, friend or foe, in the world.

    Letting this government run our affairs is like putting a toddler in command of an aircraft carrier.

  25. One of the darkly funny aspects of this is the ham-fisted response from Hegseth, attacking the professional and personal integrity of Goldberg as a journalist. Hegseth was so short-sighted in his response that it NEVER OCCURRED TO HIM that if Goldberg was considered so untrustworthy, WHY WAS HE IN THE CHAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!? It just highlights his own incompetence and lack of attention to detail.

    ALSO, those chats in Signal are set to delete after a time. There are supposed to be permanent records kept of discussions like this. They got caught this time, but WHAT ELSE ARE THEY HIDING? What else have they gotten away with in “secret”?
