Ireland is the latest European country moving to update their travel advice for the United States for its citizens traveling to the country.
Ireland’s government website issued an update to its transgender citizens, which stated, “ESTA and visa application forms to the US require travelers to declare their sex. The US authorities have indicated that this should reflect the traveler’s biological sex at birth. Travellers who have an “X” marker on their passport or whose sex on their passport differs from sex assigned at birth should contact the Embassy of the United States of America in Dublin for further details on specific entry requirements.”
Not surprised at all. Even Canada issued one. The US should be a level 2 or 3 by some countries standards “visit with caution” or “reconsider travel” in the current times due to human rights violations and tourists being unlawfully detained. “Do not travel” tends to be reserved for active warzones… which could happen in the near future.
At this point, i am issuing a travel warning to America. Just wait till trumps gone
This makes me sad, but not surprised at all. American here. Ireland is one of my favorite places. Beautiful and great people. The current President and administration, taking up space in the White House, has created an atmosphere that is untenable. I can only hope we come out of this.
Ireland issuing one is bad. Ireland and the USA have had a very good relationship for a long time, possibly more than any other country in Europe.
Unrelated to the actual news but Jesus that website is heinous on mobile. Sequential full screen ads, followed by a website absolutely infested by ads. I’m still not sure what the actual article says because I keep reflexively leaving the page, thinking it’s trying to download a virus.
This is highly deceptive reporting.
The United States is still at “normal precautions” according to the Ireland department of foreign affairs and trade. The lowest level.
They literally just updated advisory information.
US issues travel warning for US, will be the next headline.
Dear god, can we please stop with the “COUNTRY ISSUES TRAVEL WARNING!!!”, then you look and it’s just slightly updated guidance. Every single one of them has been misleading clickbait and not an actual warning.
Good, keep it up!
The US needs this kind of pressure on it. Keep doin’ it, world. This is our window to fight this horse crap.
Buried lede. The travel advisory is for transgender people with X on the passport for sex. Since the US now, apparently, only recognized biological sex at birth as a person’s sex, declaring a sex other than that could lead to issues (i.e., detainment), hence the warning.
Keep ’em coming.
Every country needs to do this ASAP.
If you are a tourist and end up in a ICE raid they will send you to guantanamo or Venezuela. It’s not worth the risk.
Wow…..tourism + Trump means losing billions of dollars. How stupid can this cheeseburger eating moron be?
You know the old adage, “if you meet one asshole, they’re an asshole, but if everyone you meet is an asshole, you’re the asshole?”
That’s us right now
Love to Ireland from a liberal American. Some of the kindest people in the world.
That’s a disingenuous headline at best. Ireland saying there’s been changes to what is needed on documents when traveling to the US so contact the US embassy if you want more information, isn’t a travel warning. Funny how they call it advice and guidance throughout the article instead of a warning like in the headline
Because of the fascism or because of the water they try to pass off as beer?
What did the US expect? They’re throwing people in horrible prison conditions for minor infractions instead of just turning them away at the border like they should.
And the list grows. Isolationism will no go well, but we are going to have it thrust on us. A substantial number of governments no longer trust us.
Yay Us.

Canada should issue a more official one besides the 30 days visa. It’s not safe for us and even though a lot of people are cancelling their plans, many others are still going.
I like how each country staggers it by one day so this stays at the top of Reddit.
I can’t wait to see the tourist data for the US in the next couple months.
Gotta catch ’em all
“Travel Advisory” has quickly become the new “UN Condemnation letter”.
How badly do you have to fuck up for your closest allies to issue travel warnings. Total embarrassment.
The Irish one was worded a bit different though here’s an exerpt: “These Yank !@#$ers don’t know how to pour Guinnes and their soda bread is shite!”
hm. We’re in real trouble here in the US aren’t we?
At this point i think the only Countries that haven’t issued a travel warning for the US are Russia, North Korea and Israel.
Can WE (USA) issue a travel warning to incoming travelers?
If they aren’t coming here to do inappropriate things with children then they don’t have anything to worry about.
Honestly, every country should issue a travel warning for the US. There is no guarantee that you will safely make it back home.
I live in the US, in a tourist supported area. We need tourists. The country at large is not safe at the moment.
as an american studying in ireland and seeing only americans on pattys day, we are a disease
Is it too late for America to issue itself a travel warning? 🚫✈️
Every foreign nation should be doing this. He’ll, we should be doing that for traveling in the US as well.
I don’t blame them at all. That blame falls on maga.
I am ashamednthat they have turned us into a 3rd world nation run by a despot.
Are we a third world country now?
We’re reaching the point where a country ***not*** issuing a travel warning will be bigger news.
With Herr Piece’s Gestapo in ICE rounding up any non-American — and some Americans or foreigners here legally — I can’t blame most of Europe going, “Uh, you guys may wanna postpone your vacations there until Mango Mussolini isn’t in power anymore.”
I’m surprised Canada hasn’t issued one yet.
deceptive headline. did anyone actually read the article?

literally means nothing
The Signal controversy reveals a deeper structural failure in American governance—one where critical national decisions are increasingly being made through emotional urgency rather than long-term strategy. Instead of relying on formal institutional channels that emphasize oversight, accountability, and deliberative planning, key actors are using encrypted group chats to coordinate actions like military strikes and geopolitical maneuvers. This shift reflects not just a communication breach, but a breakdown in trust within the system itself. When senior officials feel the need to bypass established processes, it signals that they prioritize speed, optics, and internal loyalty over legal procedure or strategic modeling.
This emotionally driven decision-making loop leads to instability on multiple fronts. Public trust erodes when actions appear impulsive or tribal, rather than rational and transparent. Foreign nations struggle to interpret U.S. policy when decisions are made in secret, informal forums with unclear lines of authority. As a result, global actors are left guessing who is truly in control—and whether decisions represent the state, a faction, or a momentary mood.
The most dangerous consequence is that strategy becomes reactive and performative. Decisions are no longer about shaping the future, but about sending messages, managing perception, or reinforcing in-group consensus. Governance becomes a feedback loop of emotional impulses disguised as policy. If left unchecked, this trend will accelerate the collapse of institutional legitimacy and deepen the fragmentation of global order.
What if you couldn’t LEAVE??? Not worth that risk at all.
