  1. From Bloomberg Opinion climate columnist Mark Gongloff and data journalist Elaine He:

*We’ve long known President Donald Trump is a climate-change denier. And we knew that, during last year’s campaign, Trump* [*promised*](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/05/09/trump-oil-industry-campaign-money/) *to make the dreams of fossil-fuel tycoons reality if they bankrolled his candidacy. But nothing could have prepared us for the breadth or intensity of the assault on climate action that Trump has unleashed during his first months back in office.*

*Every agency with any connection to the climate (meaning basically all of them) has been involved, from the Environmental Protection Agency to the Defense Department. International cooperation by* [*NASA scientists*](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-02-24/trump-creates-uncertainty-for-world-s-most-cited-climate-report?sref=ZtdQlmKR)*,* [*UN diplomats*](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/putting-america-first-in-international-environmental-agreements/) *and more has been forbidden, and Trump appointees are meddling in state and local efforts to manage their own environments. Elon Musk’s crew, intent on dismantling the apparatus of government, has frozen research and funding and put vital expertise on the street.*

*Trump claims his climate demolition will benefit the country. He and his mouthpieces have* [*argued*](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/climate/energy-secretary-climate-change-fossil-fuels.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare) *that ignoring climate will lower energy costs for consumers, help the economy and secure “energy dominance” for the US. The truth is much different.*

See [all the data here](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/features/2025-03-26/years-of-climate-action-are-being-demolished-in-days-by-trump-a-timeline), in a detailed timeline (no paywall)

  2. And so soon after selling out to Russia and Big Oil? Shocking!

  3. Come on the stress he creates is killing me. You think he would stroke out already

  4. Sucks but when people say “Dems aren’t doing enough on climate”, they are safeguarding from crap like this that will take decades to recover from – if we ever have another president.

Sometimes you gain ground, sometimes the task is just hold it.
