Chris Rock on his flight home… “He DID slap me in the face!”

  1. Chris Rock took it like a champ.

After the smack and when Smith sat back down and started just screaming at him “Get my wifes name out of your motherfucking mouth” ….

You could absolutely see the cogs in Chris Rocks head going with a “oh that’s no problem Will, but hey, at least it’s her name in my mouth and not some other guys dick in hers again”

  2. It was all arranged to make Oscars seem relevant again. Smith was put in the front, with easy access to Rock, and when he got up and hit him, Rock played it as if there was strength in Smith’s limp wrist slap. Now everybody is talking about the Oscars ceremony again, and ratings may go marginally up next year.

  3. Will Smith is such a dick.

The things that are said about other people as “jokes” at other awards ceremonies are sometimes really bad…but somehow he just has to defend his wife’s honour here.

Sure, the joke was in poor taste given her diagnosis. But it was hardly seriously offensive.

He’s a complete asshole and anyone who stood to applaud his win should be ashamed of themselves.

**EDIT:** since /u/I-smell-ur-Vagina deleted his comment, I am pasting it here, along with my reply.

    /u/I-smell-ur-Vagina:

    > Will Smith at this point is completely broken. He is not the bad guy here.
    >
    > Jada is pulling all the strings.
    >
    > She broke down his masculinity on television during a talk about why she cheated on him. Her excuse was “If he loved me enough he would’ve known”.
    >
    > I think that Will Smith whole heartedly did not care about the joke Chris Rock made at the Oscars, but Jada looks over at Will once the camera pans away, as if to say “if you dont stand up for me, this is why i cheated”

    > Keep toxic women out of your life because it can turn nice dudes into monsters..

    MY REPLY:

    Um….

    > Why are you bringing your misogyny to this sub?
    >
    > On the facts: they have an open marriage (which they have talked about), and they separated for a while (covering the period during which she had a relationship).
    >
    > As regards the rest, assaulting another man to “stand up for your woman” is the epitome of toxic masculinity. Will Smith is the one with the problem here.
    >
    > Finally, if you think he is a nice guy, you are not ready to hear about his shady Scientology links. Or to watch any of the cringeworthy interviews he gave about After Earth – a movie entirely devoted to trying to make his spawn “happen”, just because he is his son.
    >
    > The man has a massive ego and is totally delusional. He hasn’t had a good movie for years and seems to have a God-complex (witness his weird speech last night).
    >
    > But, sure, the issue is his wife…

  4. Am i the only one that noticed he didn’t actually hit him ? It was just a Hollywood punch, in the air…

  5. Chris Rock, who has a weird history of taking potshots at this particular woman *specifically* that goes back years, said something about a physical condition he knows she’s sensitive about, knowing full well the implications, because he made a whole documentary about the expectations and history of black women’s hair and the politics of it. Will Smith then slapped him in response.

It is extremely weird to me then, how many Redditors are unaware how insane they look when their response is about how “toxic” Jada Pinkett is.

  6. Ratings dropped last year by 58%, this year add some physical violence and it’s exploding online. Next year – give everyone handguns and excecute those who do not win awards. Fuck it, society should collapse in style

  7. So Annoyed with these two dickheads. There is a conflict in Europe the could escalate at any minute and these two gobshites grab the headlines because …

  8. I don’t keep up with celebrity news etc. but from browsing the various threads about it seems like people really hate Will Smith.

  9. I want Ricky Gervais for next year’s Oscars. There will an absolute brawl!

Also imagine seeing Chris Rock walk on stage and being shocked he makes a controversial joke. It’s kind of his job 😂

  10. Chris Rock has said before it’s okay to joke about what someone’s done, not something they are. I’m not sure why he chose to ignore his own rules.

  11. OMG I don’t give a flying fuck about Smith and Rock but that post …that brought tears to my eyes from laughing. G’wan, g’wan, g’wan 😂🤣😂🤣
