  1. I feel like the vast majority of his films, especially in more recent years, really have something to say in terms of social commentary. I love that he picks projects like that.

  2. My great great grandfather attended one of these schools. I’m definitely gonna have to check this out!

  3. I’m glad they’re doing this film. People dont talk enough about the horrific abuse they went through, sanctioned by the government. Native Americans were made to deny their heritage, cut their hair, change religions, could not speak their native languages, were abused in every way in these schools. Their parents didnt even know which schools they were at

  4. Reservation Dogs did an episode on this and it was harrowing. They did an amazing job with it and I felt like watching Dear Zachary all over again, but worse.

  5. I hope this brings more awareness for the fake and betterment of indigenous peoples 👏🏼

  6. Weren’t several churches razed in Canada bc of purported graves related to abuse and nothing was found. Public outrage from this lead to arson and church attacks.

  7. Finally another story of natives that can focus on how it effected white people.

  8. I already definitely want to and don’t want to see this movie.

  9. Because it’s about young kids? He can find his next girlfriend.

  10. If this topic interests anyone, season 1 of 1923 also does a great job

  11. I personally believe we should shoot him into the sun but that’s just me
