Trump cancels 20 semi-truck loads of food deliveries en route to Ohio food bank.

Each truck holds 100,000 lbs—so that’s $2 million worth of food—about a week’s worth for Northeast Ohio.

"This food is just going to sit and spoil… And that would be the loss of 2 million, 3 million pounds of food," explained Food Bank CEO Kristin Warzocha.

They only discovered the food deliveries were canceled when they checked the website for USDA’s Food Assistance Program —no official notice was provided.

After Trump signed executive order last week, the USDA completely eliminated the Local Food Purchase Assistance and Local Food for Schools Programs.

But why cancel truck deliveries already in progress and waste all that food!?

  1. He’d rather let 3,000,000 pounds of food go to waste than give it to needy people? What a choad.
    *jeebus, help us!*

  2. Trump doesn’t care about poor people

    Let the kids go hungry

It will make them into strong people when they are adults.

The 70+ million people who voted for him understand it’s all in his great plan for Merica.

A bunch of those 70m people were poor though…

Yeah it all makes sense. Perfect sense.

  3. This is affecting food banks across the country. The funds were part of TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), which provides charitable hunger relief organizations such as food banks food grown in the USA. Most if not all TEFAP is purchased by the USDA from large scale domestic farmers and ranchers. Stuff like meat, eggs, cheese, nuts, etc. They were called CCC (Commodity Credit Corporation) funds. Also cancelled were USDA LFPA funds, which provide food sourced from local, small scale producers. Almost $1 billion in food cancelled. They’re starving their own citizens.

  4. Maybe Ohio should reconsider their vote next time.

That’s kinda how it works. If Ohio voters think hungry kids for oligarch tax breaks is a good thing, keep voting GOP. Otherwise, Ohio might want to reconsider.

  5. Each truck holds 45000 pounds and not 100,000 pounds, but it is ridiculously stupid.

  6. Exactly what Jesus would have done, let perfectly good food rot just to fuck over hungry people.

  7. Ignore his orders and get the food to the people!

  8. Republicans are not Americans, they’re Anti-Americans.

  9. Just wait until they vote for vivek ramaswamy for Governor!!
They may be forced to eat the cats and dogs!
Trump won Ohio and now this is their reward for being so ignorant 🙄 Dear Gawd hungry kids 🥺

  10. This is awful but what truck carries 100k pounds? Most max at like 42.5k

  11. Ohio got what it voted for, they chose someone who wants them to starve, we certainly don’t want to deny them the privilege of starving for Trump.

  12. This is the most incompetent administration ever. Honestly, food bank trucks. Come the fuck on

  13. Why is it that the president has this kind of power? Shouldn’t he be on the golf course or something?

  14. All for a big gold statue in DC. Besides the whole Mount Rushmore thing.

  15. Things have fallen a long way… Had this happened at the hands of any president prior to Trump, even if by accident, it alone would have drawn the iron of the entire country do today this crap is a many times daily occurrence.

    ENOUGH!!!

  16. Wasting the food is the seasoning that makes the cruelty ***spicier***.

  17. Yeah… I’m gonna have to check you on that 100000 pounds per trailer. It’s illegal and I can’t even think of food dense enough to add up to 100000. A trailer full of coal can weigh 100000.

  18. Someone needs to withhold his big macs and his diet cokes. Then maybe he would get it

  19. It’s not just his brain, his heart is two sizes too small also.

I bet he’s really proud of himself for starving people, including kids. I hope his ‘let them eat cake’ moment comes soon. Then the whole world will celebrate.

  20. Wasting food and letting people go hungry to “own the libs.” How incredibly selfish and stupid.

  21. This is the main problem with putting these children of privilege in office. They’ve never had any of their wants, much less needs unmet and they have no frame of reference for what life is like for those not in their economic bracket. These sociopaths wear their lack of empathy and compassion like a badge of honor.

  22. I’m really suspect of this source. I will grant you the Cleveland Plain Dealer is a mainstream newspaper you should be able to trust. But this whole article is talking about what was said on a podcast. There is no actual research into the facts.

Furthermore, early on the article mentions how the podcast says that each truck is 100,000 ponds of food. That’s simply not true. The maximum legal weight of a truck in the US is 80,000 pounds, barring special exemptions for things that can’t be easily separated. Which does NOT apply to food.

However, that includes the weight of the cargo and the truck. Most semis top out around 45,000 ponds of cargo before they get over weight, with the other 35,000 ponds being the truck, trailer, fuel, driver, and personal affects.

If that part is so obviously wrong. I want some one to make sure the rest of it is accurate.
