Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has just made an exciting claim about the future of Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic as the centre-back nears a move to North London this summer.

Ange Postecoglou will get a first look at Vuskovic this summer when the 18-year-old links up with the Tottenham squad for pre-season.

There is a lot of excitement at Spurs about the defender, who has outperformed expectations during his loan spell at Westrlo, not only proving solid defensively but also demonstrating his eye for goal.

Vuskovic has confidently claimed that he is ready to play for Tottenham, and it turns out that the centre-back could potentially be fast-tracked to senior international football sooner rather than later.

Vuskovic starred for Croatia Under-21s during the international break, finding the back of the net in the win over Thailand’s Under-23s, a victory that saw his side being crowned the champions of the International Cup U-23.

The head coach of the senior Croatia side, Zlatko Dalic, has admitted that he is keeping an eye on the Tottenham man’s progress, although he confessed that it is perhaps too soon right now to call up the defender to the squad.

When asked if Vuskovic could get his opportunity soon, Dalic said (Nova TV): “It’s still too early; we are still processing the match against France. We have three months to prepare for these decisions.

“He is certainly a player in our focus. We played the last 15 minutes in Paris with three defenders, and we have good solutions in that area.

“Defensively, we were solid in the Nations League, and there are many positives to take from it.”

Will Tottenham send Luka Vuskvoic out on loan?

It has been claimed by some pundits that Vuskovic is not ready to vie for a place in the Tottenham side just yet and that the centre-back could benefit from another season out on loan.

One would expect Postecoglou to make a decision on the teenager’s future once he assesses him closely in pre-season.

A loan move to a Championship side might be ideal for the Croat as he attempts to get used to the demands of English football.
