  1. this kid utters “my dad works at Disney” at every opportunity.

  2. Isn’t Rachel one of the few people praised in that godawful movie? Rachel being pro-Palestinian didn’t drive people away, the moving looking terrible did.

  3. He just looks like a prick that inherited whatever he has.

  4. The fact they made a complete cu*t of it more likely the reason it’s bombed

  5. MAGA hates her so they review bombed the shit out of the movie the same way they did to Daisey Ridley in Star Wars and Brie Larson in Captain Marvel.

  6. Why do we care what this guy thinks? While we are at it, does any one know what the director’s dog walker thinks?

  7. Despite loving Disney movies, my kids don’t want to go see Snow White because “it looks so creepy!” They don’t care about the politics of the movie’s leading lady.

  8. I’d like to see a data comparison of how all the live actions remakes have done. My impression is that people generally don’t want them, especially when they’re treading old territory like this.

The other problem with bringing back very old movies is that modern parents don’t want to expose their kids to them because our memories of a story like Snow White is that its antiquated. I understand the studio tried to modernize the story, but at the end of the day, I’d prefer my child enjoy new stories that are relevant to their lives today. That’s why I wouldn’t even ask my kid if they wanted to go see this movie.

Ultimately, it is a cash grab for Disney because they want to keep making money off properties they own instead of developing new and interesting entertainment.

  9. My 11 year old daughter legit told me she doesn’t want to see this because she already saw snow white as a little kid.

Like I get it, Disney needs to renew the trademarks so they can keep control of their IP, but let’s not pretend that this was ever gonna be a successful movie.

The only one that’s been truly successful was Beauty and The Beast, and even that had a lot of sales due to controversy.

  10. Her pro-Palestinian stance undoubtedly upset some folks and she initially made some comments that Disney fans felt were disrespecting of the source material. So maybe didn’t help.

Of course Disney had a whole kerfuffle with Peter Dinklage over hiring little people to play the dwarfs. So then they fired those actors who did not appreciate the loss of work and made what has been described as cgi monstrosities for the dwarves instead.

Hot mess is written all over this picture and if Disney doesn’t want their actors’ opinions known, maybe stop shoving them into every interview they can find? Buck stops with the mouse.

  11. Ugly hair, cgi dwarves, a remake no one asked for… this film was doomed to bomb from the jump no matter who was cast.

  12. Maybe we’re just fucking tired of live action remakes of Disney Classics… 12-year-old are gonna be the ones who want to see this movie they don’t give a shit about what her personal politics are. It’s a stretch to expect adults to turn up and see this when we’re busy watching the White Lotus.

  13. Buddy clearly doesnt watch his dad’s work. The dwarves were absolute pure fckn nightmare fuel.

  14. No one gives a fuck about RZ’s politics. This is such a transparent attempt to distract from the movie’s marketing and production failures and to intimidate even mild political dissent.

  15. Imma be honest, if they still had those CGI dwarves, this movie could’ve had Jenna Ortega and it still would’ve bombed. And also, it could’ve been the BEST version of itself and I still don’t know if the Snow White brand is all that big. I almost exclusively only see Snow White when showing all Disney Princesses since she was the first.

  16. I think the issue is far easier to explain than politics: theres nothing new anymore. Movies are reboots or remakes, video games are also remasters or remakes and music is remixes or new lyrics over the same beat.

I’m not going to go spend £20+ to sit in a movie theater with a group of strangers talking in the background for a movie thats a remake of a cartoon I saw when I was five.

Consumable media as a whole has massively stagnated and now sticks to a tried worn formula. There’s no more risks taken in big media anymore.

They want people to show up make things we’ve not seen before.

  17. Are most people even paying attention to that stuff? Like, I’m in the celebrity gossip subs cause I like to get into that stuff as a mental break from real news. But if I asked any of my co-workers very few of them would know.

  18. Why does no one just want to admit the world didn’t ask for or want this movie?

Snow White OG is iconic for being the first Disney film. It’s also one of the worst ones and boring as shit. For 1937 it was a marvel to get colors like that on screen and animated but the story was basic as all hell. This is just a film that does not appeal to anyone despite all the behind the scenes drama. Even without that the movie would have flopped. I imagine only die hard Disney fans went to see this but for everyone else it just lacked any pull especially quadrantly (why would boys or men watch this, at least with Snow White and the Huntsman the *huntsman* gave some appeal to males).

  19. I haven’t seen it, but my dad took his grandkids to see it. My niece said that the dwarves were scary. My nephew said that the “evil lady is really beautiful”. My dad said it was too long and that it had some kind of message, but he was too bored to try and figure it out.

None of them really seemed to go crazy for it, but it is a movie dumped in March.

  20. Zero idea what her politics were. But so bad my 8 year old hated it.

  21. Why do people talk like this? It’s a bad movie either way you slice it. Terrible casting aside, no actor could have made this a hit. Nothing to do with politics

  22. Babe, we’re not seeing the movie because of Gal Gadot.

  23. Still don’t understand how this movie cost so much to make.

  24. Quit making movies that people don’t want to see. It’s really that simple

  25. Sorry cupcake, this goes way beyond her politics.
The film in its state should never have been made to begin with. Offensive to so many on so many levels.

  26. Whenever a movie bombs like this everyone involved usually starts to point fingers

  27. They should have done a live remake of Bambi. You’d get animal love and blood and gore. Everybody wins.

    Rated R

  28. I was thinking of bringing my granddaughter to see this and then read how the story was completely changed. That’s why we’re not going. I couldn’t care less about the “personal politics”.

  29. Big Draco Malfoy vibes.

“My *father* will hear about this!”

  30. No one wants these live action remakes. They want original stories!

  31. It’s funny how he blames Rachel Zegler’s politics, but not Gal Gadot’s politics. Gal is pro-Isreal.

  32. Let’s just keep blaming women. Not the men in charge

  33. As far as I understand her politics are pro gaza, anti trump?

  34. Orrrrrrr Disney should stop making live action remakes.

  35. The producer who thought it was a good idea to let Gal Gadot sing. Also let’s not forget about those bandits. I mean the guys resume is certainly impressive. I’m not saying he’s some kind of clown, but the lead actress was not the problem. She was good. Once they started with their original stuff, it fell apart. The Gal Gadot singing I’ll never understand. She looked the part, but god damn.

  36. Yes it had nothing to do with the fact that it’s another garbage remake that literally no one asked for or the atrocious acting.

  37. Who cares what the producer’s son thinks? Ew lol.

  38. If anything I’ve heard she’s the highlight and this movie has reinforced gal gadot as a terrible actress – maybe HER politics are why this movie isn’t doing so well that’s why I won’t support it, besides it being ass.

  39. It’s the CGI dwarves and Gal Godot, actually.
