MOSCOW, 27 March (BelTA) – Celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia will be held in Minsk and Moscow on 2 April, BelTA learned from the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.  

Every year on 2 April, Belarus and Russia mark the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, a holiday established by the decrees of the presidents of Belarus and Russia.  

“The main celebrations are traditionally held in Moscow and Minsk and bring together the heads of government and state administration bodies, political figures, representatives of creative intellectuals and the general public,” the Standing Committee said. 

On 2 April, Belarus’ Bolshoi Theater will show its Passionate memory diary on the new stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. This production was created for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and was financed from the Belarusian president’s fund to support culture and art. Its show in Moscow will also be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On 2 April, the Palace of the Republic will host a gala concert of artists and creative groups from Russia and Belarus popular in the two countries. The line-up will feature the Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir, the Belarusian dance company Khoroshki, the Governor’s Symphonic Chapel of Penza Oblast, Syabry band from Belarus and People’s Artist of Belarus Anatoly Yarmolenko and others.
