1. It’s about images bringing their contents/subjects to life and exciting spiritual experiences, so if I had to guess it has something to do with orthodox christian iconography. I’m not very familiar with the subject though, so not a 100% certain.

   e: Might as well add a quick and dirty translation of the few lines they keep repeating:
