BOSTON — ICE agents grabbing a Tufts graduate student off a Somerville street and shipping her to a Louisiana detention center is reminiscent of “1939 occupied Poland” when Jews were being bundled off by the Nazis, a local congressman said in the wake of the “disturbing” arrest.

Rumeysa Ozturk, a PhD student and Fulbright Scholar from Turkey who’s here on a student visa, was taken into custody Tuesday evening by Department of Homeland Security agents on the sidewalk outside her off-campus apartment in the sanctuary city.
