If we believe in fairness and the rule of law, then no one—ally or opponent—should be above scrutiny.

30. AS A TURK: There was a political coup in Türkiye 10 days ago! As a result of this political coup, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İMAMOĞLU, who was innocent and loved by the people, was imprisoned due to secret witness slanders. Many politicians and journalists in the country were unjustly and unlawfully imprisoned. This is a huge damage to the country! The people of Turkey are on the streets and resisting! Students are being punished very harshly and mercilessly by the police! Protesting is a constitutional right in Türkiye, but the Erdoğan government is banning it and openly calling its own people terrorists. The whole world should know this!

Turkiye is not any other insignificant country for EU in terms of history, cultural ties and of course economics oh plus military power..Both EU and US has been endorsing the monarchy in Turkiye for years upon years because of their interests but it's becoming a fully dictatorship right now and the results of it won't be good at all especially for EU..

37. Western countries and USA are all hypocrites. Turkish people won the biggest victory against their western enemies in the war of independence with the great commander and leader Atatürk and with the great Turkish people. They will do the same this time with their great belief against one ruling man.They do not need hypocrite western countries and USA.

38. Almost all of the people (most of them are young students) in custody have scars of harrestment on their bodies from the police, even though they did nothing illegal. At this point we really need European Human Rights to send a delegation. You don't have to get sad or feel bad for us, but you can all actually do something to protect our democracy, if you'd like to help us as well. Even writing a petition to European Human Rights will be so meaningful & important that I would like to thank everyone who's willing to write in advance. We need someone to monitor the ruling party, because when we question them, instead of making a statement, they use violence against us. And we are having a hard time out here. They have violated the constitution and the HUDOC principles many times. However, in any case, I'm sending love from here. Your prayers will be heard regardless what you believe in.
