People are sick and fucking tired of it. It won’t end well.
Just watched reeves being interviewed by Ferrari (who I also can’t stand) trying to defend her freebies. She was a stuttering mess 😡
Yeh I think we can stop calling them the Labour Party now
Earlier the Regional Branch Manager of Scottish Labour (Anas Sarwar) was not just agreeing, but actively **defending** forcing disabled people to either work in excruciating pain or starve in poverty. His own Red Tory colleagues have confirmed that these cuts will plunge **over a quarter of a million more people** into poverty as above. This is horrific.
And yet people look into their bairn’s eyes and say yes, The Red Tories are an improvement on the Blue Tories and voting for them is he best thing for those forced into work or to starve in poverty in Scotland.
Austerity 1 didn’t work so we are going to try it again
Do they actually want Farage to win a landslide, for the UK to descend into fascism and follow the US’s path? Because that’s what will happen if they continue like this.
Wasn’t the figure of 250k calculated on the assumption that the increased funding for training and education (approx 1bn iirc) leads to zero jobs among that demographic?
We’ll see how it goes I suppose, hope the figures aren’t as grim as some of those being banded about.
Starmer won’t like hearing this, he was aiming for a round million.
These are difficult times indeed it does seem that there is a bifurcation between welfare in Scotland and England. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years. Starmer already made the choice at the outset. He knows he’ll either turn it around and get a second go or not and be booted out. Just paying a feckless zombie army of voters like the SNP is, well it’s also going to be interesting….
And they don’t give a fuck…
Meanwhile, I heard there’s talk of Elon Muskycock getting subsidised and we’re begging the Yanks to be nice to us in regard to tariffs.
What have we become?
Again, how is increasing spending overall, but just not as much as you thought, while also increasing the block grant and taxation (with NI) considered “austerity”
The welfare budget is still projected to increase by £30bn over the next 5 years, it’s just not the £35bn that was originally forecasted.
The block grant is the largest it has ever been in the history of Devolution.
Its completely unsustainable for government finances to always just increase, when the tax receipts do not increase by the same margin.
We spend so much on debt interest, so little or R+D and have amongst the lowest and most narrowest tax bases in Europe.
And yet people have a huge moan over the fact that, even though spending is still increasing dramatically, it’s not as much as we originally thought it was and therefore that’s “austerity”
Where was this anger from people in the decade of Tory rule. Same cycle again, labour gets stuck trying to clean up and people demonise them at every turn. Is this good, of course not, it fucking terrible. Out the blame where it belongs, on the bastard that mishandled the economy in the first place and forced the current government into a situation where they have to make decisions like this.

More Tory than the Tories
