  1. I remember being proud of being American when we started sending HIMARS to Ukraine.

That seems so very very long ago.

  2. With the US deciding to abandon its values, the world moving towards an unimaginably dark future.

  3. I mean this is a pretty fucking clear message to America no?

  4. He does realise the US troops in Greenland are there at invitation and can be ordered to leave at any point, he does realise this when he’s making threats and having Vance make ridiculous claims that “US troops in Greenland generously allow Greenlanders to set up hunting stands near their base)

  5. On ‘that sub’ they are already spinning the narrative.

Apparently Trump wants to protect the poor people of Greenland, because, you know, he’s wanting it out of the goodness of his heart, being such a decent upstanding person with morals.

And there are people posting ‘I stand with Greenland’.

I swear the majority of those accounts are Russian.

  6. Can you imagine – a nation of 58k has at least four different parties, where as 340 million have picked two tribes.

  7. United we stand, divided we fall.

Why does it feel like the world is understanding that concept better than this stupid country?

  8. The whole Greenland thing is MAGAs way of acknowledging global warming.  Take over frozen lands that you know will soon be a lot warmer.

  9. Trump didn’t even know there was a country called Greenland before this bullshit, much less able to find it on a map. He is being fed this stuff by someone else. He is the messenger.

  10. Start by expelling all U.S. military personnel until Trump agrees to shut up and stop threatening Greenland and the EU.

  11. For Americans unfamiliar with the tradition, this is known as a “War Cabinet”, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. That’s where you are now. Good work.

  12. Wow, how major is this cooperation?

In the North American political climate, even just if it was purely a gesture it’s huge. But it sounds like it goes beyond just a symbolic move?

Either way, good for you Greenland.

Canadian here wishing we had your political unity against a common threat

  13. The US is moving the narrative from “Greenland wants to be part of the US” to “we need to take over greenland to preempt anyone else doing it.” We’re not long until they’re openly talking about invading it.

  14. I hope, really hope, that the threats of annexation are just to put pressure on Denmark and Greenland to do a deal. Realistically, if US wants to buy Greenland there is probably some deal to be made. Maybe Denmark retains control over populated areas, or they become independent idk. Because to fully join the US there would obviously need to be a referendum.

But lets be serious. If Trump uses military force, no one is defending it. It’s a population less than 100k, and only Denmark would come to its aide. No one is risking WW3 with the strongest army in the world over 100k people, as terrible as the optics of the invasion are.

That doesnt mean we should allow it or let the US off scot free. Canada will arm to the teeth and probably beg UK for use of its nukes, and the US will likely be sanctioned and ostracised by Europe

But realistically i think there at some point will be pressure on Denmark to host a referendum and negotiate a reasonable sale that makes Trump happy.

  15. I will personally wear the colors of Greenland and fight my own nation if they decide to invade.

  16. wildly embarrassing for the US. I hate that we are such an insanely stupid country

  17. Some of them used to have a favorable views of the USA.
