Rich people get rich by being the most ruthless sociopaths around
P&O needs to declare bankruptcy already- it can’t afford to run itself and is currently relying on constant cash injections and loans from DP world and their shareholders. – And seeing as P&O is unable to make pension contributions, it looks like the money from DP world isn’t enough anyway.
I can’t see P&O breaking even, let alone turning a profit, anytime soon. It’s time to cut losses.
A. The pension hole and the way they’ve treated their staff is truly awful.
B. The parent company spending money on sponsorship is a marketing expense, designed to bring more money in than it costs. “Splashing out” is weird framing.
I don’t think the two need to be linked. A is awful on its own terms, and made no better if they don’t do B.
This is what happens when corruption becomes a normalised weekly event and no one is surprised any more.
That article kind of hit home, my ex wife also went on a DP world tour after I lost a lot of money.
It’s almost like socialism would solve a lot of these issues but it’s been drummed into thick, greedy people that’s it’s bad.
And despite “£100m losses” they still managed to pay over £200m dividends to shareholders.
I wonder if those two things are linked in some way.
He cares. Little about p&o.
What other companies does he own so we can all not use them too?
I see. Could you make them a cup of tea please Stephanie?
Can somebody explain how it is still legal in 2022 for companies to run their own pension funds?
It’s almost as if a financial system focused on maximising profits isn’t in the best interest of most people.
People are so delusional they think socialism means everyone would be worse off when that isn’t the case at all. The vast majority of people would be significantly better off while the top 1% would go from being unethically, obscenely rich to just millionaire level rich.
This is absolutely the intended outcome of social programming. Convince people that the interests of the 0.01% are aligned with their own despite that 0.01% lobbying against the interests of the vast majority of the population at every opportunity.
First brexit benefit, you can now easily replace people with cheaper ones.
You could make a 3-words slogan campaign out of it “Stop Wasting Money!”
The government of the UAE. Nice people to nationalize your services for you.
I could think of a far better use for those golf clubs….in Minecraft of course
So can they just be arrested now and have assets siezed to secure the pension fund ? If not why not ?
Not excusing anything, but this headline is massively misleading.
For fuck sake, where do you think the prize money came from?
Two entirely different companies but don’t let reality get in the way of the outrage brigade.
