Most people who admire this man come from a specific party. You should know that the historical leader of that party, at the time President of the Parliament, opened the discussion in the Parliament regarding the murders of Cypriot citizens by Grivas and his group(yeah you know, EOKA B?). He asked him to dismantle his paramilitary group or the Parliament would declare him a murderer (κοινό δολοφόνο).
And do you really think that the EOKA B under his leadership and the EOKA B a few months after his death was different? Weren’t the members the same? Did his death turn his fellows “evil” and treasonous?

Look I will not stand here and support che, he had many positive traits and ideals but he also did some horrible stuff. So I disagree with people who make him out to be a saint.
On the other hand Griva’s history is awfull from start to end with no positives i can really see. A man who created organisation x and fought communists during the german occupation of greece with the support of the nazis. A man who during 19955-1959 ordered the execution of many inocent members of the communist party. Also he created EOKA B which staged the coup and slaughtered so many turkish cypriots, in one of the worst crimes in cypriot history. See tohni and many other villages. He was a pure fascist, working with the nazis and then Hounta. I have no idea how we can have statues and streets of this man.
