WEST LAFAYETTE — Brayden Sweeney is the latest to buy into Barry Odom‘s Purdue football rebuild.
The linebacker from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Mich. verbally committed to the Boilermakers, he announced on his Twitter account Saturday after visiting West Lafayette for a spring practice on Friday.

Sweeney is the second member of Purdue’s 2026 class, joining Chicago offensive tackle product Rico Schreiber.

Sweeney, a three-star prospect by 247Sports, had nine Division I offers with Purdue being the lone power conference program. He was named Division 5 first-team all-state in Michigan this season as a defensive back this past season by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association.
