MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Early Saturday morning, suspects rammed their vehicle into a local business to steal cell phones.
At 4:46 a.m., officers responded to an alarm of a break-in at the East Memphis Digital Wireless location.
MPD, after arriving on the scene, discovered the front door of the business damaged and several glass cabinets shattered and empty.
After reviewing surveillance footage, a silver Hyundai Elantra can be seen reversing its bumper into the business at 2:33 a.m.
The driver managed to break through, and two males exited the vehicle and walked into the store.
One had a hammer and the other wielded a firearm.
After taking several phones, they left the scene in the Elantra.
At 3:12 a.m., the Hyundai came back where two additional suspects came and stole more phones before turning off the cameras.
MPD is unaware is more merchandise was taken afterwards.
