Much of this article seems to be underpinned by this quote; “Let’s be very clear … if a single Russian toecap steps into Nato territory, there will be war with Nato” which gets labelled as “strange”.
It’s not strange, it’s not aggressive. We are all the victims of Russian aggression, it’s sensible to re-iterate at every point our commitment to NATO and in the face of this new naked aggression, an increase in defense spending.
Just updating this classic by Orwell:

Voting for Brexit because you don’t like brown people is exactly like being shelled by a tyrant with a micropenis
1) Insults Ukrainians.
2) Compares the EU to a tyranny that must be broken free from.
3) By extension remain voters were dangerous insurgents.
In a prewritten speech at the tory party conference. Not some stupid ad lib at a dinner do. Johnson and his team actually thought about those words carefully and decided they were good to go. These are the people running the country.
