  1. >Twenty-two percent of those surveyed said they backed Hegseth to stay, while 24% said they weren’t sure. Thirty-eight percent of Republicans said Hegseth should go, compared with 33% who said she should stay in the role.

    >The survey, conducted March 25-27 among 1,001 registered voters, also found that 47% think that national security adviser **Mike Waltz should also resign**, compared with 21% who disagreed. Thirty-two percent said they were unsure.

PS: The poll’s margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

  2. Resign? Slap on the wrist. How about Espionage Act charges?

  3. Probably a very similar number to those not wanting to see him confirmed.

  4. So basically every single democrat voter. And perhaps less than 5% of republican voters. Let’s not forget that Harris lost by less than 2 million votes… And 90 million did not vote. This is a nothing story sadly.

  5. That number is far too low for it to be a sign of anything good.

  6. he should also give himself an enema with a 5th of vodka. and then go away.

  7. Why? Trump is the one that appointed him to that position. Trump should resign.

Don’t let the Republicans scapegoat one of their own and throw Pete under the bus. If Joe Biden was president when this happened, whom do you think Donald Trump would blame? Yeah, that’s right! The president is responsible for everything that happens under his administration. Donald Trump is the one that appointed this man to that position. Donald Trump is responsible for what happens. He should be impeached and removed from power, immediately, before another one of these clusterf@cks happens.

Don’t let them blow this off. Don’t let them scapegoat one of their own in a pathetically transparent attempt to appease public opinion. Hang this around the next of the man responsible.

  8. According to the GOP – This means nearly the entire country does NOT want Hesgeth to resign.

Amazing how they just blatantly outright lie and repeat the lie and lie again and get away with it.

While Democrats think there is still some rulebook everyone is playing by.

  9. I imagine if they asked the same people “Should Trump resign” it would probably be similar number.

  10. So along party lines, roughly. Not inspiring any confidence in America at all.

  11. JFC. I would make a better sec def. Sure I have zero experience in managing large, complex organizations or overseeing complex weapons procurement/systems and don’t have a military background but I’m not dumb enough to talk about sensitive stuff in random group chats with names I don’t recognize/know.

  12. I worked for a defense contractor and I had a clearance. Late on a Friday afternoon, I left work to drive home. As I got close to home, I realized I had forgotten to lock a cabinet in my office. So immediately I raced back to the office to lock the cabinet. All weekend long, I had severe anxiety thinking about having to tell my boss that I may have committed a security violation.

99.999% of the people with security clearances would end up in a Federal prison if they committed a violation like Hegseth’s.

  13. The other 46% were dropped on their heads 100s of times as babies.

  14. In any sensible country it would be 99%.  WTF is wrong with Americans?

  15. Even if he did – which he won’t, because he has no shame – what sort of absolute cretin would replace him? And would congress just let it slide again?

  16. Only 54%? That is ridiculous. No wonder the US is so fukked up.

  17. The fact that Republicans refuse to hold an openly nonfunctional alcoholic accountable shows that their only standard is being a white supremacist

  18. Resign?

He should have never been appointed in the first place.

His only qualification was being an outspoken tRump mouthpiece on ~~Fox News~~ Faux Entertainment.

  19. Its wild that critics said he was woefully under qualified .. and then he does something completely stupid and 46% of the survey are like “naw its fine”

  20. 54.
this says everything about the state of this country.
it should be 99% in any other timeline.

  21. The other 46 percent don’t know who Hegseth is…

  22. Which means 46% think he shouldn’t. “That’s” the crazy part.

  23. Of course he should resign, he was a DUI hire to begin with.
