Yes please, now flanders needs to implement this + mandatory dog-schooling. Would save me and my older dog a lot of frustration and pain.

Punish both people who get a pet without the license, and those selling to unlicensed customers.
They also need to immediately revoke this license when people exploitatively breed animals to sell.
my SIL has several cats. non chipped (which is obligatory) not sterilized (which also is obligatory) and also 2 dogs where i doubt they are chipped and/or sterilized

Iets serieuzer: wordt er in de gaten gehouden hoeveel/hoe regelmatig je nieuwe beesten koopt? Geld dit alleen voor “grotere” huisdieren of idd ook voor vissen, of muizen, of andere beesten met over het algemeen een kortere levensduur?
Why only for dogs? Any other animal can just be bought at a whim as a christmas present. Same nonsense going on in some German states, need a ‘dog-license’, but only dogs can suffer from uneducated owners apparently 🤦♂️

The vergunning is granted to all adults automatically and digitally. This system has been in place for a few years.
It’s something that can be taken away however, presumably if you commit an animal related crime.
What’s changed is it now must be checked at the time of purchase. Previously, it would only get checked at signs of trouble.
So this is nothing like a driver’s license or something, which people seem to think in the comments.
Titel is misleading. Everybody has that attest automatically, you just get it revoked if you abuse animals. Titel should be: “Dierenmishandelaars zullen geen dieren meer kunnen kopen.”

Eindelijk. Gedaan met honden gevangen zetten op 5 m², die dan vervolgens niks anders doen dan de buurt bijeen keffen totdat ze hees zijn en dan maar gaan janken van miserie.
