Europe has avoided war because its afraid of what we are actually capable of. Time to become angry again.

Starter of 2 world wars..
A bload soaked continent for more then a millennium
I tend to agree with the headline
United through diversity
Dumb propaganda headline, we’re not afraid of what we’re capable of we just know better. That and we can never actually agree on anything beaurocratically.

A banker likes the idea of war? What a surprise.
Europe avoided war, because it still remembers how destructive and horrible war could be…
Yes but we’ve done also other things. Abolish death penalty, civil rights and democracy.
We don’t need to be angry, i wanna approach the world with peaceful and mutual benefitting action.
A Fortress Europe can be a beacon of stability and freedom if we deter external authoritarian regimes to mess with us.
Not too angry i would say. Maybe more determined is the right word. We have tried the Europe being angry thing a couple of times before, and its not very nice.
Such a stupid words. What happened here in WW2 is not capability. It is losing your connection with human being. This is something you do not want to do, can not be capability. Looks like in longer term far right and radicals will try to find a way benefit from current US conflicts.
These propaganda pushing for war is the most stupid shit ever, do they really forgot what WW2 did to Europe?
What if this time, instead of fighting against ourselves, we would be united against the only imperialist enemy we have?
I kinda… Don’t wanna die, man…
Personally, I’m not afraid of what my country will do on a war. I’m worried that if we increase the budget on defense, and reform laws to give the military more leeway, the moment another government tries to change that back… well…
Let’s say that historically, military officials in Spain have never been the ones to shut up about their complains. Or let them pass unheard.
“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent”. Nothing to add really
We don’t have to become angry – that is the extreme opposite of the extreme we are now – a joke that can’t recognize a wolf as a wolf.
We shoudl just become a little bit more in touch with reality of the situation.
Maybe not the best title but I somewhat agree. Europe is too relaxed and does not take the risk seriously enough until it’s too late. I remember everyone said “Russia won’t take Crimea”. Oops. Then “Russia won’t attack Ukraine”. Oops. Then “Trump won’t align with Russia”. Oops. Then “Trump isn’t serious about Greenland”. Soon: OOPS!!!
Europe avoided war because people realised that where trade goes, tanks rarely do. Hence the creation of the ECSC, a forerunner of the EU. It’s probably the most obvious (and equally ignored) benefit of the whole thing.
War! Huh! What is it good for?
Goddamn we are Marshall Eriksen, aren’t we
Arm to the teeth, protect Greenland, protect Ukraine. Together we are mighty!
European countries need to spend way more money to build up their military before they start talking shits.
We dont want war. Only insane loons want war.
But, that doesnt mean we should prepare to defend if worst comes
I heard a Trump supporter saying if he wins there will be no wars.
I feel duped. I do.
WW1 and WW2 are why Europe has avoided war. Unfortunately it looks like it will be unavoidable at some point in this century. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been a terrible reminder.
Yes, because when Europe goes to war you drag the entire fucking world into it.
Europe avoided war because war fucking sucks that’s common sense no?
What happened to “never forget”. Can we please just “never forget” again? It’s been too long for the US to have a war on their soil. They seem to have forgotten.
The quality of life in Europe is “too high” so nobody wants to put it on the line. That’s what happened to the Roman Empire as well. When quality of life improved and they ran out of expansion wars, people just didn’t see the benefit in going to war anymore (even defensive ones). And they employed others to do the fighting for them. And we know how that ended up.
On the other hand, Russia treats human life very cheaply (with the exception of a few large cities). This is unfortunately quite an advantage and we see the pattern repeating itself throughout history: when empires/kingdoms started to decline they eventually (mostly) fell to very warlike “barbarians” that have nothing to lose (and nothing better to do with their lives).
So if Europe doesn’t have the balls to fight for what it has achieved and what it stands for, others will eventually come and smash the sandcastle.
