  8. Seems odd to have one, we weren’t the perpetrators, and there’s less than 300k Jewish people living in the UK. Yes it should be remembered, but so should all the others, and we can’t have large memorials for all of them.

  12. Unpopular opinion, but I don’t really understand why we build memorials to outside events and foreign figures with no direct correlation to the UK. That’s not to say I don’t recognise the horrors or hardship of those events and figures. I just don’t really see the benefit of building them here.

  15. I agree that the holocaust memorial should not be shared with other genocides . The gravity of the holocaust was huge and we dont argue that a memorial to this bombing should include a memorial to all bombings  for example. 

    We should have a memorial to  other genocides too

  17. Quite staggering dereliction of journalist duty by the Jewish News there, not stating theat Pickles is chair of the Conservative Friends of Israel in the House of Lords

  18. It was Jews from all over Europe that were exterminated not specifically Israel, also many other groups of people. The memorial is for all of them, not just Jews

    The industrialised killing of Jews, Roma, Poles and many others should be remembered in every country in Europe

    uk is not the villian, brits do not need reminding, uk taxpayers should not pay pay for holocaust memorial and nor should it sited in a prominent location
