FOOD producer Glanbia claims it suffered losses of around €3.2 million after pieces of wood, bird feathers and shards of metal were found in salt it had been supplied for use in its cheese products.
Glanbia Ireland DAC and Glanbia Foods Ireland Ltd have brought Commercial Court proceedings against the Irish Salt Company Ltd, of Tramore Road, Cork, and British Salt Ltd of Northwich, Cheshire, England.
Mmmm salty
It’s “organic”
If it’s sea salt is that surprising?
If these shards harmed you it would be assalt.
You know when it says extra iron in salt, how else would they put it in, I’d say they have to re label their salts now to say includes iron, fibers and a bit of protein.
While in reality wouldn’t be surprised where salt is being made grinded them places people tossing shit like lose screws around machinery and crap that gets incorporated in it, so wouldn’t say glanbia is making it up as Smth like salt would require very little monitoring and standards.
So if they sent out batches to get tested and thats the result they will prob get the compo they looking for, as likes of glanbia would be at high level risk and liability if consumer was to find it in their food.
