All TDs, government, opposition and independent alike hire friends and relatives into these roles. The Healy raes are just arseholes so people amplify outrage.
The system is the problem in this instance, it needs to be reformed.

I hope the average person actually realises that all these assistants in parliament actually do sweet F all. For €104k the actual little amount of work they do is insane.
These people aren’t exceptionally wise and qualified people. Even at the best of times they get the job for the primary reason that they are part of a political group.
If you’re a legal exec or company secretary or KYC onboarding specialist…. You work at least twice as hard as these guys. Honestly!
It’s April now and the government havnt done a thing since November.
If ye can’t be trusted to get trousers and a jacket that fit how can he advise on anything??
This kinda thing should be banned. No gov jobs to any family members of TD’s, where said TD is going to be the boss of the family member.
Is anyone surprised the mafia family are keeping things in the family?
This stuff happens everywhere – it should be banned but it won’t be because too many other politicians do the same.
