    Trump is so stupid doing these things, because this is only worsening his position in negotiations and making it harder for him. A smart guy would leave NATO on the table in the sense of not outright rejecting it, even if he doesn’t mean it to happen near term (there are many steps ahead of a NATO accession where he will have a say). But this guy isn’t smart, and just removing this as a carrot for Ukraine to accept the deal.

  6. In place of Ukraine I would keep pretending to plan to sign this eventually, letting it drag on as long as possible. Eventually the orange moron will have more important things taking his attention, like US economy, China-trade or some new chick from Pornhub. In the meantime the limited support from the US would go on.

    In fact I am hoping this is exactly what Zelenskiy is doing.

  7. USA isn’t supporting Ukraine with anything besides what Biden had in the pipeline. The threats behind the deal is instead about USA actively sabotaging Ukraine’s defence by denying allies the opportunity to help Ukraine and cocking up the NATO pipeline.

    EU needs to threaten with a moratorium on US weapons if Trump persists.

  17. I am amazed how badly Trump is handling this whole situation. Even for him. Putin doesn’t give two shits about what Trump is saying and Trump is undermining any hope for peace. It just makes Trump look idiotically incompetent.

    A deal signed under duress is null and void.. I absolutely don’t know the law around it, but i guess Europe would like to have a word with the US if they tried to enforce anything down the line.
