“A French minister has spoken out after Donald Trump’s administration ordered some French companies with U.S. government contracts to comply with orders banning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
French Minister for Gender Equality Aurore Bergé indicated in an interview that companies will refuse to follow Trump’s request.”
“We want more white dudes with trust funds and alcoholism is positions of power like we do over here”
The only correct reaction is no reaction. Trump is attention seeking.
If journalists press you, reply “this does not concern France” and move on
Imagine 1960s South Africa demanding other countries to install Apartheid, or refuse trade. 1960s Apartheid South Africa got sanctions and boycotts instead. If the American government plans to continue on their resegregation path, they should take note of that.
What is French for “Le Fuckè Vous”?

Macron needs to remind trump that France is not the USA and that trumps opinion is worthless.
Honestly, at this point, I’m scared a bit. Like, I don’t think politicians will just bluntly oblige. But I’m afraid many companies will quietly comply over time, to the extent the laws allow them to. And let be honest, not all European countries have employment laws protections to the level counties like France do. And there are quite a few right-wing countries in Europe that I’m certain will side with Trump the second they get a chance to do so. Next 4 years will be fucking awful
The silly thing is, and maybe a French person could correct me, but my understanding is France has a unique “race blind” system. Basically France doesn’t collect data on race, and French employers do not either. You are basically considered French if you naturalize into French citizenship, and non-French if you are a resident non-citizen. That’s basically the only way they categorize people. There’s nothing like in the U.S. where people are asked their race on job applications of census forms.
Because of this I don’t really think French companies practice “DEI policies” as Americans understand the term.
France has been inspired today, huh?
Très bien.
Fire ze laser!
Help me understand why the us government has a say in whatever internal policy a company has
By next month trump will be talking about taking over a country because they have DEI policies.
F Donald in French and every other language on the planet
Nuts!
Aww did poor little baby Donny not get his way again and is gonna have a little temper tantrum? 🍼
If any country would burn the world to the ground for their principles it’s France. I wish more countries populace had the same idea. Increase the pension age by 6 months? Lets set fire to the everything.
I hope the informal answer was “ta gueule, putain”.
European countries have human rights and non-discrimination obligations according UN treaties, EU and EC, and national law as well.
USA haven’t ratified Convention on the rights of the child.
Good! The fucking gall to tell other countries how to conduct their affairs! Every country in the world must stand up to trump.
Here in Europe we like to poke fun at the French, for being, well, French. But the truth is they love to protest, burn shit down, paralyse their own capital, and don’t take kindly to overpriviledged 1% telling them what they can or cannot do. Last time the greedy went too far with their BS, the French had this whole Revolution, during which they invented guillotine to expedite the killing. So don’t think the French companies will risk backing an ugly, ugly man against the backlash they would face home.

Edit: Now go away, or I’ll taunt you a second time!
If these companies are fulfilling contracts for the US then Trump would cancel the contracts and have US companies fulfill it. Obviously since he hasn’t done that, these companies specialize in something the US can’t do and if that’s the case then these companies can tell Trump whete to go.
US companies doing business with the French government should be forced to provide their employees five weeks of paid vacation per year. And paid parental leave.
If by “reacts to” you mean they wipe their arses with it and then complain about the quality of the paper then yes, the french have reacted to that orange buffoons attempt to lay down the law in another country that has absolutely no interest in that stain of a human.
I know people like to make jokes at the expense of the French, but that’s mainly because they can take it, slice it finely, and serve it back with exactly the right sauce.
