Since returning to office, Donald Trump has jeopardized several crucial initiatives to hold Russia accountable for its war crimes in Ukraine. In addition to complicating investigations into 153,000 documented war crimes, DOGE budget cuts and the US withdrawal from international initiatives have endangered Ukraine’s deported children, POWs, and civilian hostages, whose lives, health, and return to Ukraine directly depend on holding Russia accountable.
