Resident Christine Pett from The Mill House Care Home in Kington, near Inkberrow, wrote the Christmas well wishes.

It was a “special moment” for all at the home, which is based off the A422, and brought “smiles and laughter”.

The King had replied: “I was most touched to receive your generous message and hope that you too had a joyous Christmas.

“Thank you for your very kind support during what has been a busy year!

“This card brings you my warmest good wishes for the new year.”

Registered manager Rebecca Pleaden said: “I am delighted that we have received a card from King Charles following a Christmas card sent to him by one of the residents on behalf of The Mill House Care Home.

“When I emptied the post box I couldn’t believe my eyes!

“To say we were overjoyed is an understatement.

“The smiles and laughter it brought to the home were incredible. It really was such a special moment for us all!”

The family-run village care home offers love and support for individuals living with dementia.

It has been owned by Joanne Carroll since 1994 and is led by her daughter Georgina Stone.

The home has a lively Facebook page and residents most recently enjoyed an outing to Inkberrow With You In Mind Memory Café.

They were also visited by rock and roll dancers and held a coffee and cake morning for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day.
