THE UK government has returned over 24,000 individuals with no legal right to remain in the country since July, marking the highest rate of removals in eight years, prime minister Keir Starmer said on Monday. Speaking at the Organised Immigration Crime Summit, Starmer said the government is working to restore order to the immigration system.

How many came in during the same period?
We need it as a percentage
Positive step forward
How many left voluntarily and how many were actually physically deported?
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak claimed the government had “deported 24,000 illegal migrants” in 2023. It was based on ad-hoc data on enforced and voluntary returns of people who did not have the right to stay in the UK in 2023—more recent official figures show the number was actually 25,646. But only a minority of these returns meet the official definition of “deportation”, and many were people leaving the UK of their own accord, independently of immigration authorities.
Those are rookie numbers, time to pump those numbers UP
Probably with a huge wad of cash in their pockets.
As long as it’s not in private jets but a trebuchet.
Drop in the ocean, labour propaganda more like
I noticed on UberEats last night for the first time ever it said there were no Couriers in my area. Had to pay £5 extra for a Maccies. This is economic catastrophe!!!
That’s a mere drop in the ocean. It’s a good starting point but that amount won’t fix anything.. plus they’ll likely be back here in no time.
How many have come in since July?
How many left willingly or were physically deported?
What percentage of the AT LEAST 1,000,000 illegal immigrants is that 24,000?
So like – do people still hate the dude then? I’d imagine this is an incredibly popular move with people that’d ordinarily think Starmer is “a piss weak leftie”
How many were voluntary, how many from the boats, how much did they pay each to return. There’s so much missing
Returned them to where? France? Their own country…If they provide a passport/ID of some kind? Is there a list/statistics somewhere?
Won’t get anyone excited and more inclined to vote Labour in the cohort of pretty much anyone who would be moist about this news if it had happened under a Farage/Badenoch/Jenrick premiership. Won’t do a thing to bring back the rapidly dwindling Labour base. Next decade will be grim even if we deported 1 million illegal immigrants so long as Labour stick to their unambitious incrementalist polices.
Now tell us how many thousands of benefit claimants arrived legally since July, and how many illegal migrants arrived and stayed in the same period.
Population will increase by 2 million through this parliament, but they’ll show you a chart of deportations going up a couple of thousand to try and fool you into voting for them again.
It’s already been stated that the numbers are not as they are trying to report. A significant number of people left on their own accord..
It’s Alistair Campbell levels of spin…
“In the same period 23,242 people arrived on small boats”
Sounds like quite slow progress
I swear reading some of these comments makes me think none of you people could be pleased
For the year ending June ’24, net migration was 728,000.
For the year ending August ’24, there were 615,000 more benefit claimants (UC, ESA, and housing benefit).

Except they’re not from the countries where those coming in recent drives actually are.
Plus it’s a small number compared to those coming in
