  1. I think the travel advisories and warnings may have to do with it.

Or the stories about imprisoned and tortured tourists.

  2. Even before Trump most of us were scared to go to the USA because it is so dangerous. Now it’s even worse because they imprison and torture Europeans and every EU country has advised us not to travel there.

  3. I work for a US corp but am based in Europe. Even for work, I don’t care to fly to the US right now and instead prefer to organize f2f meetings at a European Hub instead. Or worst case do it virtual.

Bottom line: traveling to the US is even for biz – let alone tourism – not an option

  4. Didn’t they also spread “we’ll do a thorough security check for everyone coming to the USA” through their embassies or something like that? I can imagine better ways to spend 3000€ than flying to the USA, standing in line at the immigration desk for 5 hours, and flying back.

  5. Yeah, my family would love to visit NYC but I’ll rather save for another four years. We speak Spanish and my daughter has a tattoo.

  6. Dear European Travelers: DO NOT travel to USA…you could end up in a Salvadoran prison and no way to get out!!!!

  7. The tourism industry in the US is worth up to 120 Billion dollars per year. Not anymore.

  8. Yep, sorry fellas, see you back when the fascists are gone.

  9. Wait and see what happens when Europe stops buying arms from the USA. Currently over 60% are bought from the USA.

  10. I heard from a European who is a legal resident in the USA for more than twenty years and has an American spouse and kids who is afraid to leave the USA because of the rid of being denied entry on return.

  11. I had to go to the US during Trump I.

It was cheaper than usual, but even more painful than usual at the airport.

To be safe, if you come from Europe, shave your beard before checking in. Less problems at the border.

  12. Ey Florida, have fun with russian tourists, they are the worst.

  13. I prefer to go to Italy to have some good pizza and good wine at a sunny beach. So no thanks America you can keep that 💩 to yourself.

  14. I mean, my GF and me planed to go to LA etc. next year but cancelled that idea early this year and from the situation now, i am more than happy we took that decision. Japan it is next year.

  15. The US is more and more resembling a 3rd world country but without the charming and friendly characters. Only xenophobic weirdos.

  16. Well we didn’t know it exists prior to Columbus, might as well pretend again we don’t know whats over there.

Nevermind the large aircraft carrier next to us… That must be aliens!

  17. There’s nothing in the US that doesn’t have its equivalent somewhere else in the world that in the current climate is almost guaranteed to be better.

  18. After having visited to US many times in diffrent areas of the country, both inland, costal, red and blue states, I now have to say I rather not NP matter “unknown territory” or not.

It may not be because I fear gerting attacked by “MAGAs” or government agancies (veird to say it even so) but certainly that is a bigger fear now even if Caucatian from a developed country beeing fluent enough that some american have misstaken me for beeing American. In a time when both political leaders and some media sources are saying the most awfull things it sure can rub off to less educated people and the level of danger at least increases. One still have to know there are quiet a big portion of americans that is such and havent meet the outside workd enough to see the truth.

The biggest reason though is that I feel disgusted. Of cource not all americans, or even less than half really agrees on all the horrible or stupied thing this administration say or do. However it’s not a joke, not funny at all. Totally appaling to hear government official, more or less the entire whithhouse doing all from threatening former allies, treatening immigrants like trach, attacking political opponents, fiering goveenment employes with no warning, expressing wishes for polute the world even more etc. To hear media like people on Fox “News” advcocating bombings on small countries like the little Denmark that never acted bad against the US. All these things. Cellbrating authoritarian and attracing peaceful countries in rants of lies.

How much will this effect the US tourism business?

We know at least in all Europe (but more or less globaly). In every singel EU country the wishing of going to the US has in recent months declined among every age groupe, among both highly educated and low educated, among women and men, among leftwing voters and rightwing voters among poor and rich. All groups basicly in all EU countries.

The decline of international visitors to the USA will problably only be matched since the WW2 by the COVID-19. It was estmated to raise a few months ago but will now decline faster than almost ever before. This will become a steal bath for US tourism for sure. Some plan longer ahead so the effects will be even worse in a few months as many that already planed and bought will problably still go now

  19. My friends’ are expecting their 2nd child later this year. She’s American and he’s Dutch, but has a green card because of their marriage.

They asked if I’d be visiting towards the end of the year to welcome their newborn. I said I don’t want to risk it. I asked if they would be visiting the Netherlands to see his parents at some point, and they’re unsure because they fear being unable to re-enter the country. So I said maybe we can plan something in 2026, once we see how things play out.

Ironically; he’s a Trump supporter. Or was. He’s pretty quiet on his support for Trump now, lol.

I’m not going anywhere near the US whilst this situation is ongoing. It’s a hostile nation now, and has made clear it doesn’t like Europeans. I’m not welcome and I respect that; america joins my list of countries i will not visit because I am not welcome there. Right above North Korea and below Iran.

  20. This might be a stupid place to ask this question, but I’m going to ask it anyway. I know I will get some replies telling me to fuck off basically, but I would appreciate feedback. I’m from Minnesota, and my wife, my brother, his fiancee and I are planning a trip to Germany this summer and have been planning this trip since last fall, before everything went to shit. Both my wife and I have lived in Germany in the past, I worked for and currently work with a German company, and we both have a lot of friends and family in Germany. Is it still a good idea to visit? I’d rather spend my travel budget in Europe than anywhere in the US right now. It would also be my future sister-in-laws first trip to Europe which is kind of exciting. Like I said, I know people will tell me to fuck off and stay away, but I’m interested in your feedback.

  21. They should avoid Turkey, too so as to not to fund the government beat down the protesting youths.

  22. Can we please reschedule the World Cup 2026 and move it to the UK

  23. ive been doing this for decades. why are they dont writing a story about it now!?

  24. No wonder, as even people who have U.S. citizenship report being questioned at the border after a vacation back in their home countries in a way that makes you think they’re purposefully trying to make you say something “wrong”.

  25. Makes sense I wouldn’t want to get picked up by ICE while vacationing.

  26. It sure was a hard decision to cancel my US southwest road trip in September, but I feel quite good about visiting Canada for the first time ! To me the Canadian Rockies and Vancouver island ! 🌳

  27. The only people wanting to travel US will be Americans. They will be poorer with less money in their pockets due to drop in trading and tourism so they won’t be able to travel much and so the impact will be felt across their country.

  28. The fact that a typo on a visa application can get you detained and possibly deported to an El Salvadorian prison… yeah don’t come here

  29. USA 2025 GPD will be negative growth. This will bring A Great Recession. The only ? is how long and how deep. I expect the US Stock Market to be at the same level 4 yrs from now as today

  30. I would absolutely pay $1000 extra to avoid a layover in the US, on every single business trip I have to make

  31. I would have gone. Closest I’ll go is Canada now. And probably better in every measurable way.

    Go to Canada!

  32. It’s one of those things – I wouldn’t travel to even the “rich” Middle Eastern nations because you can’t be sure who will be upset or decide they have a problem with you for whatever reason (especially when in an interracial marriage – some places just have people that take issue with that more than others) and then you definitely can’t count on the police to make the right call if they got involved either.

I also don’t travel to countries that threaten to annex or otherwise invade nations I consider friendly to ours.

  33. Hilarious headline got the chuckles oh my europe is gonna have a busy summer

  34. Congratulations, MAGA, the US is now entirely “flyover” territory. Mission accomplished.

  35. I don’t think anyone in the us really cares, maybe you should save your money and donate it to Ukraine

  36. For the same reasons of uncertainty and political jeopardy, I don’t want to travel to USA, Turkey, Hungary and China
