U.S. President Donald Trump is due to unveil his tariff plan at an event in the White House at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (2000 GMT), amid concerns from businesses, consumers and investors about an intensifying global trade war.

Italy’s insurance regulator IVASS needs more details about internal control and governance systems as it reviews domestic leader Generali’s proposed asset management tie-up with French bank BPCE, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.

STELLANTIS STLAM

Sales of new cars in Italy rose for the first time eight months, rising in March by 6.2% compared to the previous year, but sales for Stellantis fell by 0.92%, transport ministry data showed on Tuesday.

Stellantis was one of 15 automakers, plus a trade group, which were fined a total of 458 million euros EU antitrust regulators on Tuesday for taking part in a vehicle recycling cartel. Stellantis, fined 99.5 million euros, said provisions for the charge had already been made in 2024 full-year results.
