  12. Any ceasefire from them is just a reloading period. If they were in any way serious, they would be negotiating with Ukraine in good faith.

    Trump’s demonstrated weakness on the world stage and diplomatic incompetence has upset the balance of security for of half the globe.

  14. Putin is Trump’s only real competition in terms of ridiculously ruinous world leaders. But Putin doesn’t really have much to work with, whereas Trump gets the last remaining superpower.

  18. Yeah lol I knew the ceasefire was a horrible idea, now they can recoup their losses and prepare for another onslaught. Ukraine should be hammering them right now with everything they have.

  19. Considering they’ve already drafted prisoners and sought out NK troops I’m guessing they’re reclassifying conscription eligibility to do this. Nothing screams ‘winning’ like ‘we need more men now!’.

     Russia has mandatory military service.  Conscription happens  biannually for men age 18 to 30. It has been happening like that since Yeltsin. These men undertake military training but do not go to active zones. 

    Time to rub some brain cells together reddit.

  29. Every year Putin signs the draft order (yearly conscription that happened for the dozens of years before war) and every year reddit twist it like a it’s a new mobilization wave for war effort. Classic at this point.

  35. This happens every freaking year in Russia, actually twice a year. Why people make big deal out of it? Yeah the rules got more tight and now is more difficult to avoid being conscripted that is why numbers went up. Yeah some of these conscripts will sign a contract and will be sent to Ukraine.
