Palestinians in Gaza prepare to mark the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr, but they say they “have nothing to celebrate”. More than 890 people have been killed since Israel’s renewed offensive began on March 18th, no food or supplies have entered the enclave in weeks, and the situation remains highly unstable.   3. I feel that celebrating Islam, which teaches uniformity (avoiding diversity at life's cost), is a major ideational foundation for the crisis they are facing now. The Quran and Hadith teachings are at the center of their misery, fomenting hate against non-Muslims. The teachings are also the basis for radical groups who try to translate it into practice.

  5. I don't get why Hamas don't hand over the hostages and surrender. The war is lost, so the least they can do for the people of Gaza is to end this carnage. But if they had cared for them at all, they wouldn't have provoked this war in the first place.

  23. I though they were starving! I saw stalls groaning with sweets, cookies, sweetmeats, fruit and vegetables. And then women cooking cookies. And the woman doing the cooking was fat!
