According to a recent analysis by MojPosao, the highest average salaries in Croatia are found in the IT, telecommunications, and information sectors, while the lowest are in auxiliary professions.

Data from the MojaPlaća service shows that the average net monthly salary, including bonuses, stood at €1,474 in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 9% increase from the previous quarter and a 16% rise compared to the same period last year.

The median salary was slightly lower, at €1,360, indicating that most employees earn below the average wage.

Which Sectors Pay the Most?

IT, Telecommunications & Information Sector – Salaries are 15% above the national average.



Technology & Development – Employees earn 31% more than average, reaching €1,936.



IT Specialists – Receive €1,796, which is 22% above average.


Where Are Wages the Lowest?

Agriculture – 11% below the national average.



Auxiliary Professions – 35% below average, at €957.



Textile Industry – 24% below average, at €1,120.


Regional Salary Differences

Zagreb boasts the highest salaries at €1,605, but experienced the smallest wage growth (14%).



The lowest wages are in Vukovar-Srijem County (17% below average) and Požega-Slavonia County (18% below average).


Public vs. Private Sector Pay

Employees in foreign-owned private companies earn 10% above average (€1,627).



Salaries in state-owned companies are 7% below the national average (€1,176).



Workers in public administration and local government saw a 19% salary increase, with an average wage of €1,483.


Education & Gender Pay Gap

Those with postgraduate degrees or MBAs earn 57% more than the national average (€2,313).



University graduates earn 12% above average (€1,646), while those with secondary education earn 14% below average (€1,270).



Men earn 16% more than women, with men averaging €1,592 and women €1,374, though women’s wages are increasing at a faster rate.
