  4. Every time the police kill someone, there should be a serius investigation. The policy should follow best practices to avoid and mitigate such situations and an external body should check that they did.

    That’s not to say that the police did anything wrong in this instance, but I’m glad there’s an investigation.

  18. This headline is trying to imply there was some kind of mistake. That remains to be seen. The police are always investigated after discharging a firearm and all fatal discharges are referred to the IOPC. Indents are often chaotic and police sometimes reply on accounts from members of the public but the officer will have to justify the terrible decision he had to make. It’s also entirely justifiable to shoot someone with a knife.

  21. All scrutiny is welcomed after a death, with that said, holding any weapon in hand and running towards the police or the public is/should be a quick and easy investigation and the police completely exonerated.
