    So in order to start a war with Iran you’re going to have to relocate CentCom to Diego Garcia.

    I wonder if the British and German’s will also opt out. You can’t fight wars away from home without friends.

    I’m sure Israel will be obliging, but I’m sure there’s a reason there isn’t a base there already.

  6. This headline and news piece is just a carefully crafted bit of disinformation.

    Gulf Arab states will say this publically for domestic purposes, to stop protests and blow back from their own populations. Something something, not being complicit or aiding in bombing another muslim state blah blah blah.

    These same states will gladly covertly aid the US through over flight rights or intelligence in any military action. Whilst steering clear of overt help.

    And if that isn’t enough to assuage Trump, they’ll just buy a few hundred million dollars of Trump condos and all will be forgiven.

    In the meanwhile the Gulf States have deniable plausibility, the bombing gets done and the people of those states can pretend their government’s weren’t involved so they are absolved of any guilt, Trumps sons sell more property to Gulf State wealth funds at inflated prices. Everyone comes out looking good and smelling of roses.

    Its a con game as old as time.

  12. And just like that our Middle Eastern allies are unhappy with Trump. I wonder if him wanting to annex Gaza and dislocating millions of Palestinians creating a humanitarian crisis for Arab nations has anything to do with it?

    Most likely NATO member states will respond “Nope, defensive alliance does not work like this”.

    Tantrum and bunch of angry tweents “EU/NATO abandoned us” will follow, leading to an attempt to remove US from the alliance, or at least in a hissy fit “I’ll sit here in the corner crying AND I’M IGNORING Y’ALL YOU HEAR ME?”

  23. Understandable, any retaliation would be on those states because they’re really really close and they do not have the level of protection that you can find in Israel, drones and missiles will be way more effective.
