  1. Is it 2004? They were already divorced by the time they made it big as a band.

  2. It was a very poorly kept secret, it was the first thing I knew about them in 1999 lol

  3. I always thought this was very odd thing to do,

It was Jack who said they were siblings for people would ” focus on the music”,

I often wondered because Meg has acute anxiety and anxiety he may have been trying to be protective.

Still very strange thing to do

  4. They had the funniest opportunity to just make out on stage with no warning.

  5. I thought everyone knew this, like….25 years ago

  6. Yeah, they had stage characters for there group. What next a article in 2025 saying Marilyn Manson “didn’t actually remove his rib, in fact got other people to suck his dick”

  7. I will say my theory every time this topic comes up:

Jack White is an evil genius. He was born John Gillis. He married Meg White and took her last name. He taught her how to play drums and then divorced her, keeping her last name. Jack White is a better stage name than John Gillis. He married her for the name.

Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

  8. I thought everyone knew that already.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  9. I had a flatmate who played guitar and his name was genuinely Jack White so I’ve always referred to my buddy as “The Real Jack White” since this was discovered/revealed 20-odd years ago that they weren’t siblings and that he took her name for the stage

  10. Frank Costanza’s voice: “that’s preverse”

  11. Shocking if true, if this headline was 25 years ago that is.

  12. I commented this somewhere else, but the way I see it is Meg White is John Gillis’ ex wife, but “Jack White”’s sister

  13. While this news is so old it could legally drink, it is a bit welcome over current news

  14. In other news: rumors swirling around jr high lunch rooms that Marilyn Manson was the actor who played Paul in the Wonder Years
