I hope other countries know it’s not *all* of us in the USA that are bad, just the orange moron, Elon the troglodyte, and all their ilk that voted for them. Many of us are just suffering and wish escape was viable.

Calling the day he punches millions of Americans in the face with more taxes “liberation day” is really on point for that 1984 vibe I must say.
I’m calling it right now that he walks this back by the time this press conference is set to start.

Whenever someone defends or tries to justify the Trump tarriffs, there is one thing they ignore, the unpredictability. If Trump puts out a predictable schedule of tarriffs companies could theoretically invest based on that.
Instead it is an unpredictable zigzag.
Conservatives: “You guys just don’t understand. I can’t afford eggs and gas already, but I’ll gladly drown further if it means dragging libs down with me to keep Trump afloat!”
So, ostensibly the purpose is to make manufacturing come back to the US, so all of these goods will be produced in the US, right? And one of the claims I’ve heard is that they’ll use the income from these tariffs and eliminate the income tax. But they never mention that as more of the goods are produced in the US, the amount gained from the tariffs to offset getting rid of income taxes would decrease…
So is nothing going to happen with the signal leak? Like no investigation or any repercussions for breaking the law? We all just forget about it or have there been any developments
I wish that the other oligarchs would just be tired of this bullshit and buy enough senators and representatives so that they could finally impeach AND remove the vindictive and demented toddler.
While these tariffs are so utterly stupid and destructive, i have to say oddly, they are the “best” policy Trump has made in my opinion. I say this BECAUSE they truly hurt his voters (the non millionaire ones anyway) as well as his non voters. Everyone (again, except the one percent who are the only winners here) gets to feel the pain of his mindless incompetence, so its not just trans kids and green card holders getting fucked.
He won the popular vote, so the populace now suffers the consequence roughly equally. Democracy works people.
