The Austrian broadcaster ORF and German broadcaster ARD will once again collaborate on broadcasts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
ESC-Countdown and ESC Aftershow will once again be jointly broadcast in Germany and Austria, as the respective German speaking broadcasters collaborate on Eurovision programming. The show which will be hosted live from Basel by Barbara Schöneberger will preview the final with 45 minutes to go until the final and react to the final for 30 minutes after the show ends.
Having first been held in 2023 in Liverpool between ARD, ORF and Swiss broadcaster SRF, the Swiss broadcaster has opted out of the collaborative broadcast for 2025. SRF is part of SRG SSR which is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, and is expected to be producing its own content around the contest.
Germany is being represented by Abor & Tynna with “Baller” and are pre-qualified for the final on May 17, while JJ will represent Austria with “Wasted Love” and is competing for a place in the final through the Semi-Finals.
