  18. If you have the attitude and approach that every celebrity is/has engaged in shady stuff in some capacity then nothing will shock you.

    I personally try to actively avoid celebrity worship and recognize that anyone is a person regardless of their status. With access to a ton of influence, time and time again important people prove to make the wrong decision. You see it enough and you start to get numb to this type of news. Not that it’s not terrible, but more so not shocked when it happens.

  34. As a now 45 year old dude, once I realized essentially everyone from my grandfather’s/father’s generation has at best some bigoted beliefs and, at worst, are moral dinosaurs. It got easier to understand them.

    My grandparents’ people who would banish someone for being racist from their home, socially progressive (for their time), grandfather Marine veteran. But unknowingly (didn’t understand why it’s problematic) had some problematic beliefs or assumptions. And they were fucking great people.
