Welcome to Thursday! It’s time for another complaints thread. Come on in and have a moan – what’s been bothering you this week?

  1. Fucking crows in our fucking roof dropping fucking sticks and twigs all over our fucking drive. Fuck off!

    Fuck sake.

  2. I love birds. I had one for a pet for a while and it changed my whole attitude towards the wild ones.

I’d be real happy if killing all the birds in the area wasn’t a movie trope for powerful or evil effects.

  3. I’ve got a stinking cold and sick of coughing which only exacerbates the sore throat 😩

  4. Woke up at 4am with a migraine starting. Took some tablets, chugged a pint of water and tried unsuccessfully to go back to sleep. Bleh. Still have a lingering headache but hopefully it won’t develop into a full migraine as I have an exercise class this evening that I really want to go to.

On the bright side there is a therapy dog at work today!

  5. My left foot is giving me problems, which means no running for a while.

I think it might be something called metatarsalgia, or at least, the description of that seems to cover what’s going on. Trying to book an appointment with a podiatrist but getting silence at the moment. I would like a new left foot, please.

  6. Just had Weetabix for probably the first time in about 20 years

Not only is shrinkflation real but I swear liquid retention when it comes to cold milk is worse

  7. There’s contractors working on a bridge right next to where I work. I have to clean it every few days because of the dust from their work and I’m kinda at breaking point now. Nowhere else to park as it’s a business estate and our car park is our car park.

  8. Got woken up by next door at 7:30 by some git with a leaf blower on a day where I could have had a lie in.

    Not impressed.

  9. The plastic rim that holds the rubber bit on my earbuds has broken, so now it’s wonky.

Payrise have been confirmed, and they are quite frankly insulting.

    Also it isn’t Saturday yet.

  10. Played badminton on Monday eve. Rolled my ankle a TINY amount. Not enough to mention at the time and nowhere near bad enough to stop or even pause playing. It was fine that evening, fine Tuesday but yesterday began to ache a bit. Was quite sore when I went to bed but woke up at 4am this morning in intense pain & now can’t put any weight on it. Really weird.

  11. I’m being micromanaged to the point where my manager is changing how I phrase inconsequential things in my emails. People have gotten sunburnt on my previous jobs before, I’m not going to put “appropriate clothing” instead of “suncream and cap” when it’s full sun.

My partner’s longterm friendship group is also falling apart because of cheating within the group. Constant stress there.

And I don’t see my partner for another 8 days. Fuck me.

  12. 10 minutes into football last night and my lower back/hip went again. Thought I was making good progress but I’ve clearly gone back too early.

Sat on the sofa against a hot water bottle. 😩

  13. Back to day 2 of fighting the bank for my bloody refund as it’s been sent from the merchant, and i have glaringly obvious proof of the discrepancy

But because it was 2 items refunded on the same day for nearly the same amount, the bank can’t grasp it 🤦🏻‍♀️

  14. Ive not long got better from having the flu and now I have a stomach bug which is making me (very) miserable. I’m having to call in sick AGAIN which will trigger an absence warning from work. Blahhhh

  15. I have somehow buggered up my left thigh installing a washing machine yesterday to the point it woke me up with the pain. I am currently walking like a pensioner.

  16. Bloody IT giving bad advice. (I am part of IT but not the culprit, I now have to fix it)

  17. For some reason, I thought it was Friday and now I’m depressed.

  18. Woke up this morning and our sky hub is dead.
    No lights, nada.
Went through the troubleshooting thing on the app.

We’ll get back to you in 72 hours!

Do these people not have kids and a wife who stream constantly!?

Silver lining is I’m a massive nerd I have redundancy that worked! Which I was shocked at.

  19. I was planning on going to a local arcade this weekend (taking myself on a date as I can’t get an actual date and if I don’t take myself out, no one will), and it turns out it closed last Sunday.

  20. The weather is nice so my neighbours are back to leaving their back door open and letting their dog have free reign to bark at random times of the day and night.

I don’t know when these people sleep.

  21. One of my tablets had been moved to a “restricted” list which means I have to jump through hoops to order it now rather than just get it on repeat prescription. It is a minor niggle, but getting the surgery to tell me how and when to order them has been like pulling teeth.

  22. Our senior management are a bunch of self aggrandising twerps with inflated egos and as much managerial skill and acumen as the average aubergine. Yet it’s me facing redundancy

  23. Stayed up too late doing work for my apprenticeship (altho I am now literally 2 weeks away with being done with it for good, thank god). So now I’m super tired and I have a really busy day and I am just going to suffer 😩

Also I’m donating plasma today and last time they told me off for being dehydrated but I don’t feel like I’ve upped my water intake much so I’m worried they’re going to tell me off again 🙃

  24. My car cost me 14 pence short of The Number of the Beast yesterday. Dealer only part.

My wife’s new glasses prescription came in at £500+

Tomorrow I’m giving the plasterer roughly the same.

It’s the 3rd of the month.

  25. I live in a different country than my work (think England/Scotland), and in trying to arrange travel to a team day, I’m going to be late because of (lack of) travel options to the site, which is different to our normal office. I don’t think it’s reasonable to be expected to go up the night before and stay on my own dime, especially since I have a lot of other work-related travel around that time as well (that I’d be paying for myself also?) just a frustrating situation but otherwise very grateful to have a (flexible) job in this economy.

Also very grateful for the sunshine and later evenings these days, and that it’s almost the weekend.

  26. TPE cancelled my train on the 1st of Jan and refunded my original payment method which I had to close between getting the tickets and travelling so I’ve been stuck in a limbo for over 3 months now including being sent a cheque in the post I can’t cash in

  27. I’m exhausted at the moment – my parents are away on holiday so my sister and I are trying to split the load of looking after my gran. She’s struggling with basic household tasks since my grandad (who had slightly better mobility) passed, which is something we’re happy to help with, but she also loves to badmouth him at every opportunity.

I’m still feeling raw, so could do with not hearing about how she hated his guts, how she’s convinced he was sneaking women into their home – bearing in mind they’d have to go through the room she’s living in to get in the house – in the weeks before he died, and how she thinks he was worthless.

I’m holding my tongue as much as possible, usually resorting to “well it’s in the past and can’t be changed”, but it really stings.

  28. Work hasn’t paid me on call for 2 months. :(, little bit complicated since I’m an employed through an employer of record and our old team lead left. The other guy I work with is still getting it though.

  29. woke up to an itchy leg, had a scratch, slowly realised itchy area was moving up my leg, threw back bed covers to see a spider this big:
    🫲————-🕷️————-🫱

Cut off leg, burned down house. Now hopping mad and homeless.

  30. Absolutely swamped at work this week, there’s only 2 of us on the team at the moment and no slack in the system for when someone is on holiday. I’ll probably have to work late tonight to catch up. Also, nothing is working – all software running very extremely slowly. I’m currently sat here waiting for a process to run, normal only takes a couple of minutes but taken 10 so far today.

    Bah!

  31. I have check ups every Thursday after having cancer (again!) last year and I’m so bored with this part of my life.

  32. Amazon have lost an order twice. I’ve had to buy extra stuff to tide me over. They’re refunding it this time, but it means I have to order again, at full price instead of subscribe and save prices. It’s stuff I need, not frivolous bits and bobs, and having to keep going back to sort it out is, well, a minor inconvenience, and I’d rather not have to keep chasing things.

  33. I don’t know if it’s the younger generation or what, but I see posts with totally normal words blurred/crossed out as if they were swear words, and I just don’t get it. Like a loose example would be: “27 people have just been kil*ed because of ongoing g*nocide caused by an ir**sponsible d*ctator”. When did totally normal words become so censored? I don’t get it.

  34. Please can people respond to my work emails. For all things good and holy.

  35. Umm’d and Arr’d about whether to drive into work or take the motorbike.

Got caught in traffic. Counted about 15 bikes who filtered past. Bring back how light and warm(ish) it was at 6.30am last week.

  36. Why does the sun keep playing hide and seek just as I was enjoying it’s constant rays of vitamin D 😂

  37. Work stuff life stuff and all that cancer stuff. Get in the bin.

  38. I was good at getting to the gym at the weekend, and have been physically active this week too (Climbing, doing some manual labour as some charity work), and my body is screaming at me that I’m too old to be this active.

Everything is sore this morning. I still managed to get out for a walk before work and will do the same at lunch. I really want to get to the gym, but my arms, legs and hips are so sore that there’s absolutely no point

  39. unsure whether dealing with a throat infection, the first stages of a cold or if i’ve got tonsillitis ☹️

  40. My two weeks signed off period is coming to an end shortly and my hands are no better. So I imagine the GP will be wanting to refer me on to the hospital.

Worst thing that this two weeks has shown me is a severe lack of hobbies. I game only and watch films. Without gaming (thanks hands!) I’ve been incredibly bored.

  41. I have a horrific hacking cough and a weak pelvic floor. It’s a terrible combination.
