Looking for advice on improving my CV, since I'm only getting calls from recruiters, and no direct offers.. I'm targeting roles in corporate finance (like M&A) or managerial accounting. Some say it's too long, though I've already trimmed it and might remove a few more irrelevant lines. I'm planning to write the language section in German.

Aside from that, does anything seem too vague or in need of change? Would really appreciate any insights😉

  1. Make it shorter. No more than two pages. Especially for short term internships.

Two lines about a task of checking if a new product is in the right tax group? That’s a little excessive.

Your work experience should have “beruflicher Werdegang” or something along those lines as a headline. Definitely not “Ausbildung”.

Use “Ausbildung” as a headline for your education section.
There’s some awkward language in that section as well.

    Your skills section mixes languages.

  2. Hoteladministrator?

Weird title for a reservation groups sales agent.

    Also, training for what tasks?

As someone from the hotel industry that section raises some (minor) red flags to me

    Also, are you including Zeugnisse?

  3. >corporate finance (like M&A)

I don’t see the expected qualifications/ experience for a corporate finance role.

    Sorry.

  4. You have not even 1 year of accounting work experience, and not even 3 months full-time in your current position, and already looking to swap. I suggest you stay with your current company for a few years, and then your CV will look more interesting for accounting. Corporate Finance M&A is looking a bit out of your current range.
