The Garda commissioner is also no friend, but probably as familiar with the operations of loyalist paramilitaries as you can get. He also is a former intelligence officer so any notion that British intelligence will be leveraged in support of the UVF is a non runner, as destructive as Johnsons conservative party is – 1980’s style collusion isn’t going to happen.
