Turkey’s CHP trying to find model of ‘sustainable resistance’ against Erdogan, analyst says

FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney speaks to Aslı Aydıntaşbaş, Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution, about the mass protests in Turkey. She says that Turkish authorities understand that there won’t be much of a pushback from the West against the crackdown on the opposition, due to the current geopolitical environment. She adds that the CHP is trying to find a model of “sustainable resistance” to oppose Erdogan while protecting protesters.

  14. The European Union has been supporting the Islamist terrorist Erdoğan in Türkiye for 20 years and now they continue to remain silent about what is being done. Erdoğan's intelligence, police and military arm and train Islamist terrorists and sometimes help them infiltrate Europe. I don't understand why Europe prefers an Islamist terrorist state on its border instead of a democratic, civilized Türkiye!

  40. Unfortuntely CHP is a long dead and buried party. It's one party state rule ended on 14th May 1950 when they lost the general elections to the Democratic Party; which was the real representation of ordinary Turkish people. Make no mistake; Right wing parties in Türkiye represent the will of the people. Whereas the supposed left wing parties represent the ruling elite. In that respect "Right wing" means "left wing" and the "Left wing" in fact means "Rght wing."

  41. The wideo segment in the beginning is not from the protests but from Newruz celebrations in Diyarbakır. The Kurds did not take part in those demonstrations. In fact they condemn them. Why? Becouse they've already made a deal with Erdoğan's government!.. That is why these protests have no chance of success.
