Tesla sales slump as pressure piles on Musk • FRANCE 24 English

Tesla sales fell 13% in the first three months of the year, another sign that Elon Musk’s once high-flying electric car company is struggling to attract buyers. The double-digit drop is likely due to a combination of factors, including its aging lineup, competition from rivals and a backlash from Musk’s embrace of right wing politics. FRANCE 24’s Eliza Herbert reports.

  26. Teslers easily start burning and then they lock you in, you can't open the windows or door without electricity. It's a death trap

  27. You'd want to be nuts to buy a Tesla in Europe. The Insurance industry is majorly increasing the premiums on them, they cost more to finance and the depreciation is huge because nobody wants them anymore.

  29. Imagine Elon suddenly got evicted out of Tesla and become a nobody. If it happened to Steve Job for Apple it could happen to Elon. However, Steve Job is way too smart and able to bounce back.

While Musk’s Tesla business is clearly environmentally progressive in terms of helping reduce carbon emissions, his track record for burning hydrocarbons with little care in regard to carbon emissions and pollution, is appalling. He flies in a business jet all the time and his SpaceX rockets burn ‘astronomical’ amounts of fossil fuel and damage atmospheric chemistry

  38. I guess fElon Muskrat is a 'Fresh off the Boat' aka FOB after all. How does he not know a) MAGA is not popular for general population of the country b) Most MAGA are too poor to even afford a Tesla c) What built the U.S. with technology and education are Liberals. The only reason many states won is because of antiquated electoral college which is not a true representation of the popular vote map. Otherwise, there's 0% chance that the MAGA would have won any elections, past, present, nor future. But the power of consumer remains rock solid on the hands of the Liberals.

    Old line up.
    Uncomfortable cars.
    Noisy.
    Not very practical.
    Basic interiors….

    And the competition is coming left and right.
