>Two days after his daughter Mercedes Kilmer confirmed her dad had died at age 65, the family says in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, “Thank you for honoring our extraordinary father’s memory.”
>”We are so proud of him and honored to see his legacy celebrated,” the statement continues, concluding, “At this time, we would like to grieve privately.”
>Mercedes told The New York Times that Kilmer died of pneumonia on Tuesday, April 1. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered, she added.
I watched/listened to Real Genius today. Probably going to watch Willow this evening. Dude was amazing. Definitely guilty of forgetting some of his best.
The Saint, is for the weekend.
What are some other good ones from him?
He was my huckleberry…. Please rest in peace.
Has anyone ever said “Please don’t respect my privacy” after a family death?
Watch Val his autobiographical documentary
I hope Val is somewhere he’s finally comfortable and knows he was an absolute fucking legend on earth.
He was great as the Sherpa in Entourage.
Just watched Real Genius in his honor. Hard to grasp he’s gone, though we knew he’d been fighting this for years.
Leave the family their privacy, the Val they knew is theirs alone and they must re-knit their family to heal the gap he left in their own way. Btdt.
That’s fine with me. It would tear me up if I saw them grieving out in public.
