We share to you a story we wrote in Telegram.

Part 1: Never trust a SIM provider, even if they write things like “6 months of inactivity + 1 month for deactivation”. We always respect such rules for all our SIM, now we discovered that with Lebara they deactivated 1 of 5 SIM cards and they just don’t want to reactivate a no sense deactivation, because at the end we respected the 6+1 rule. So just to make it clear “keep always a backup of your Telegram login, otherwise you will lose all what you did” and never trust such shit companies

Part 2: Now we got another answer from them, telling us “deactivation is after 3 months”…. which is bullshit since is written “If your prepaid mobile phone connection remains unused for 6 months (i.e. you have not sent any SMS messages, made any calls, surfed the Internet, etc.), Lebara is entitled to block your mobile phone connection without notice.” https://archive.ph/T4ZeH and they changed this about 1 ago (before it was 12m).

Then we told them is just bullshit what you are talking, and if this is true, all our 5 cards should be deactivated, which is not the case. After that they started to tell us “you need to reverify your ID”. Another bullshit, since ID verification happens during signup … and no one is asking for another verification (we own all SIM cards in Switzerland, so for sure we know that). About 1 year ago Lyca deactivated all cards and they told us we need to reverify ID because they changed sistem, but in such case ALL cards where deactivated and after verification we got the cards back.

No messages was sent too and they just told us that, after saying that the first excuse was bullshit (=they didn’t know what to answer and said another bullshit). Then we asked a reactivation and they refused. Even if credit was full (we know exactly the amount and the day of usage, since we track all such infos), 6+1 was respected and a real ID verification is needed (inside the 6+1 rule), they just blocked a card.

This is just an example of what we are telling you everytime. You can’t simply trust anyone. Now is Lebara (available in multiple countries), maybe in future another SIM provider. You always need to think that such things can happen.

Most ridicouls about all that is the ignorance of 95-99% of all online and phone supporter. They can only answer like robots with always the same things (or just saying bullshit when they don’t know what to say). The sad point of such story is even that people don’t understand that this is not just a deactivation of a SIM card, but even a loss of K of connected accounts (especially if a phone login is needed and there is no way to change such informations) without considering the waste of time to change all such informations. For people not organized like us, maybe such changes are not possible at all, because they don’t know which account is connected with which phone number.

Conclusion: DON’T TRUST COMPANIES, no matter if the topic is SIM cards, storage/cloud, etc.. They can always deactivate you (in the #facebookdisabledme style), lost data/informations, limit your usage, etc. They even can shut down their service … So always think on all options available and organize your workflow.

This is the first SIM deactivation we experienced in our life, which is not related to a true inactivity. So be careful.

We know that, since we asked such information few months ago in Germany…
